Guangzhou Second People's Hospital was confirmed by the Guangzhou Government to establish the Gynecologic Research Centre originated from the normal gynecologic section. Gynecology was credited as the first five science-and-technology revitalizing projects and the key subject. The severe fertilization maternal treatment was established in Guangzhou Second People's Hospital. Gynecology section plays a leading role in Guangzhou Medicine College. Gynecologic Research Centre has become the main clinical, educational and research centre.

At present, the research centre has a faculty of 117 persons including 37 doctors, 70 paramedics, 10 medicine technological persons, 14 people with senior technical post and 11 with the secondary technical post, 3 with the doctor's degree, 9 with the master's degree, and 2 with the postdoctoral degree. The Annual income adds up to 600 thousand. It is divided into 6 departments which include obstetric, gynecologic, family planning, preconception, gynecologic Research Centre and gynecologic clinics.
