The Judging center for Forensic material evidence was founded in Guangzhou in 2004. It is acknowledged by the judiciary as the qualified judging centre for forensic material evidence whose judging result has legal effect. It provides service for the society. There are 6 people who have certificates. Its main work includes individual identification, the DNA testing, gender identification, racial and species identification. It is the first medical institution which has the quality of judging the forensic material evidence in Guangzhou.

Forensic judgment is to use the new and high techniques such as molecular biology and immune genetics to judge the sample in the civil and criminal case. Two set of 17 chromosomes STR are commonly used. Besides that the Y chromosome examined system and analysis system of DNA is established.

Some cases concerning the DNA text include both the civil and criminal case. The plot is as follow:
（1）the husband suspect that the infant is not his own
（2）the man suspect that the child is not his or the women want to make sure who is the father of her child
（3） pregnancy by rape, the women want to accuse father of the child.
（4） relative-identification, emigration, inheriting the estate, registered permanent residence
（5）suspecting that infants are mistakenly taken
（6）Make sure if the child is born illegally according to the Family Planning or it is adopted.
（7）the identification of the child who are kidnapped
（8）the dissension in estate inheriting

Our institution belongs to Guangzhou Second People's Hospital and Guangzhou Maternity Centre. We have taken the responsibility of nearly ten key projects of the country, province and the city in the last five years. We have won more than twenty rewards for scientific technology. We have various kinds of apparatus which cost nearly 100000 thousand. The apparatus used for DNA testing includes American ABI 310, American PE genic chip scanner, German Lieca fluorescent microscopical system, American ABI 5700 fluorescent PCR and some other imported PCR
